Welcome to the home of the Leicester & District Bowls League, often referred to as the Leicester League or Wednesday League.

The league was formed back in 1970 and is the only Men's rinks league in Leicestershire and we are always open to other affiliated Clubs in & around Leicester joining.

Enderby Bowling Club will be the Presidential Club in 2023

We have 3 divisions, each with 6 clubs playing each other twice - at Home & Away

  • Division 1
  • Division 2 (North)
  • Division 2 (South)

Congratulations go to our 2022 winners - Blaby (Division1); Soar Valley (North); Kingscroft (South) with Kingscroft  also winning the KO Cup final against Fosseway.

Goodwood (N) & Knighton (S) were relegated & will now play in the 2nd Division (N) & (S) with SV & K replacing them in Div 1

Matches will again be played as 4 Rinks (18 ends) and reverts to all Rinks playing at the same venue for league matches

The winning teams in both the North & South divisions will be promoted to Division 1.

The bottom two teams in Division 1 will be relegated to Division 2, which are geographically based.

The end of season league representative matches against Bowls Leicestershire, were we play for the Bill Lyons trophy was won by the League & £178.93 donated to the Men's benevolent Fund.

Sadly the League President's club fixture had to be cancelled due to "Too Good weather" fixture congestion!
