Welcome to the home of the Leicester & District Bowls League, often referred to as the Leicester League or Wednesday League.

The league was formed back in 1970 and is the only Men's rinks league in Leicestershire and we are always open to other affiliated Clubs in & around Leicester joining.

Fosseway Bowling Club will be the Presidential Club in 2024

We have 3 divisions, each with 6 clubs playing each other twice - at Home & Away

  • Division 1
  • Division 2 (North)
  • Division 2 (South)

Congratulations go to our 2023 winners -  Kingscroft (Division1); Belgrave (North); Little Bowden (South) with Kingscroft  also winning the KO Cup final against Countesthorpe

Fosseway & Soar Valley were relegated from Div 1 & will now play in the 2nd Division (N) & Brookfield  will now play in the (South).

Matches will again be played as 4 Rinks (18 ends) and reverts to all Rinks playing at the same venue for league matches. All clubs are being asked to try & field 5 rinks whenever possible, to give more fringe players experience.

The winning teams in both the North & South divisions will be promoted to Division 1.

The bottom two teams in Division 1 will be relegated to Division 2, which are geographically based.

The end of season league representative matches against Bowls Leicestershire, were we play for the Bill Lyons trophy was won by the League & raised £238 for the Men's Benevolent Fund. The match against the League President's club raised £262, making a grand total of £500 being donated this year.
